Weightloss Challenge...Ready...Set...Go!

Have you exercised yet today?

Okay, so officially there are 3 of us now. Me, sweetktea and redheadedmama. We have about 3 months to do this. Are you ready?

Our goal is to lose some serious weight by Christmas. Anyone else want to join us? Since we are all mamas who love to scrapbook, our motivation and rewards are scrapbooking related, but yours can be whatever you want. We are here to support each other in our weight loss efforts.

So girls, since this is a rather personal endeavor, would you like me to set up a new blog, or would you like regular updates and accountability to continue on this blog. Let me know your thoughts.

(and yes, RHM we do still need to find a way to get on Oprah!)

With everyone watching, we gotta stay on track! The more accountablilty the better (no comments though if my husband is reading this!!! LOL) I actually made it out for a walk this morning, ran for one block of it,and now just want to lounge on the couch for the rest of the day as it wore me out!!! Can't wait for the day that a good walk doesn't wear me out!!! :-) So sad. I am so hungry, so am going to go make a nice healthy salad mmmmmmm.

I too worked out this morning after dropping Natalie off at school. I went to they gym and rowed for a 5 minute warm-up, then walked on the tredmill for 20 minutes and lifted weights for another 10 minutes. I too am pooped, but I feel great for having done my workout. Keep up the good work!(I agree on the "helpful" comments from our husbands!!!)

Well that sounds great... I don't think the dr. wants me to loose weight at this point though... Apparently I should be gaining about a pound a week... Maybe sometime in March I can join you ladies in your adventure.

That would be great mamacimino. About that time, the weather is warming up and you could put your new bebe in a stoller and walk with me.

How about helpful comments from fathers?

From past experiences, you might try spending the 20 minutes on an elliptical rather than the treadmill, it is much easier on the joints.

Even before you do your 5 minutes of "warming-up" on the rowing machine, you might do some old-fashioned leg stretches and over the head arm stretches.

Good luck and congratulations on your efforts...all of you!

Love,

Dad

Helpful commments from fathers are always welcome and thank you for yours. Our husbands on the other hand (although well intentioned I'm sure) tend to help by saying "are you sure you should be eating that," or "instead of just sitting at the computer, why don't you go on a walk." These are the "helpful" comments we don't appreciate!!! Grin!

I agree the eliptical is much better on your body.

What a wonderful idea!!! It just so happens I bought an almost, never used new elliptical off of Criags list today!! I am so excited to start using it....(that should last about a week) :-) BTW, my husbands advice for all of us is "why dont you just choose not to be fat!" He was totally kidding, in light of our conversation. If he ever actually said that we have a great couch in the basement that I am sure would make a great bed.

My in laws came for the weekend and she brought 3 dozen cookies, chocolate chip, shortbread and peanut butter....I so far have only had one, and a bite of Isaacs, I am putting myself accountable to all of you that I will not eat anymore, and that they must take them home with them when they go!!!

First of all...how cool that you have an eliptical...when I first read it, I thought it said you got it for free on Craig's list. Anyway...if I can pass up cholate chip cookies at lunch, you can too!!! I seriously had an internal dialog that went like this...
"you can have one cookie since you are eating a salad. No, just don't even take one...it's okay, just take one to be polite...not don't eat it, you will regret it...chocolate chip cookies are your favorite...look away from the cookies... Needless to say they were passed back and forth infront of me at least twice and I did NOT partake. A minor Victory for me!
Chris was just here and told me his husband "advice". If only it were that easy!
