I'm sure a few of you out there can relate to me when I say my husband is a little distracted lately. He's been calling up all his friends and chatting about the good news...For those of you who haven't heard, the Portland Trail Blazers just won the number one draft pick! It's been a long time coming, but I think this may be what gets me back on the Blazer's bandwagon. For about 5 or 6 years the Blazers have really not been worth watching, in my opinion. I used to love watching the games back in the day (in the early to mid 90's). They were always in the playoffs and Blazermania was everywhere. But something happened (bad trades etc.) and we ended up with a team of losers, both on the court and off the court. Dan would turn the games on and I wouldn't recognise any of the players. I knew nothing about them, nor did I care to. Eventually I began recognizing some of the players by name as they were in the news a lot. Unfortunately, none of the news stories they were featured in were sports segments.
Back when Clyde, Terry, Jerome, Danny, Buck, Kevin and Cliff were part of our team, they were great. Great players and for the most part, great people. They were fun to get behind and route for. I just hope that having the number one draft pick will get us back to where we were, when watching basketball was fun. One thing is for sure, tickets are already selling like hotcakes. Dan tried to score some season tickets and all the good seats are all but gone.
On another note, did you guys catch Clyde on Dancing with the Stars? Let's just hope he doesn't trade in his basketball shoes in for dancing shoes. The guy was bad. And I mean bad in the original translation...not a good dancer at all. I have never seen such "white" dance moves from a black guy...especially one who's nicknamed Clyde the Glide! I am a HUGE fan of his, but he totally was not into this show. Most of the time he looked like he was thinking "get me out of here...I don't want to be doing this."
I was actually rooting for Joey to win, cause he made me laugh. He seems to have such a good sense of humor, but Apollo was just as good a dancer. It was exciting to watch both of them.
Now that all my favorite reality shows have ended, there is only one more cliff-hanger left...tonight will be the 2-hour season finally of LOST (only the best show on tv right now!). I can't believe how good the show has gotten over the past 3 months. So many questions have been answered, yet so many mysteries remain. I have never anticipated a show like I do this one. The character development, the story line and the writing are brilliant. I could go on and on. There were a lot of "spoilers" on 2 Peas (scrapbooking message board) today and I just had to get off the computer before I was tempted to look. If you are as crazy about this show as I am you will be glad to know that their contracts were renewed through 2010!!!Well, I have Zander's preschool program tonight, but you can bet Dan and I will be racing home to put the kid's in bed so we can watch our show!
By the way, my dad had a doctor's appointment today and his PSA levels are still going down slightly. Not to where they should be, but the doctor was pleased that they are going in the right direction. Thanks for all who continue to pray. His next appointment with his surgeon will be in July.

You should have been around to enjoy Blazermania in the late 70's, it was great then and then the 90's were good as well. You are correct the last few years that only press the Blazers got was bad, it is nice to see the new Blazers have better sence of doing what is good for the team, each other and the community.
I sure would like to see the Blazers draft Greg Oden, he comes for a great school the Ohio State University!! Go buckeyes!
I can relate b/c my husband also is wanting to go in on some season tickets!!! Wow! Expensive but....they did get the number one draft! (not a big deal to me but to him it is so....) I think it would be fun though to go to a few games. It's been a while for me b/c I just haven't been that interested b/c of all the Blazer's drama. Hopefully this next season will be a great one and one worth cheering for! It's about time!
OMG...Dancing with the stars and Clyde the glide!!! Don't get me started!!! Oh, he was so so so bad and so hard to watch....painfully awful. Poor guy. Such a nice guy but I think he wanted it all just to be over.
LOST!!!! WOW!!!! I love this show! I practically live for Wednesdays...sad, I know but...what can I say? This show rocks and I am totally invested and involved in the characters and plot. I would love to hear your take on everything Alyssa, I won't comment on the season finale though here just in case someone TIVo'd it and hasn't watched it yet.
WOW is right. That show last night was so amazing. SPOILER ALERT!!! Hurly rocks! I love how loyal he is and how cool it was to see him come along and save the day! I just about cried when Charlie locked the door, but then Dan was sitting right there and I would have never heard the end of it! He even commented..."I think it's cute how you get so into the show." I was cheering when Sayid, Jin and Bernard were all okay...Here I am just going on and on. But I guess I can, this is my blog after all. I have been reading a lot of message boards and there is a lot of speculation on who was in the funeral home/coffin. People are saying it looks small, like for a kid. They are also saying it could be some character we have yet to meet. People are holding out hope that Charlie is still alive, although I also heard his contract was not renewed so maybe not. So sad. I'll have to email you some links. I can't wait until next season, but I think it won't start back up again until January. We should have a LOST Party!
Oh there are also a lot of guesses on who was in the accident with the little boy.
A. Claire and Aaron
B. Juliette's sister and her kid
C. Couldn't be the lady Sawyer conned because she had a girl.
You just know they are all connected some how. And I am also curious why Jack wants to go back to the island...any thoughts?
Hey Dad, I was around in the late 70's, but not too interested in basket ball at ages 4 and 5. I bet it was fun for you though!!!
Good-bye "Jailblazers!"
I loved Apolo and Joey. I couldn't decide who I liked better, so I didn't care which one won. I don't watch much TV, but didn't miss that show! I also stayed tuned for the Bachelor this season, even though I never watched it before. I loved the Navy guy, and I actually picked Tessa from about episode 3 (I don't know if you followed it or not). Monday nights were the best!
Sue
Yes I did watch the Bachelor. The show is like a train wreck. I just can't help but watch it. It is a weird concept, but fun to watch it all play out. I think he picked her (Tessa) because he had to chase after her and in the end she ended up falling in love with him.
