Applesauce Day

Today I got to help out in Natalie's class. We peeled lots of apples to make applesauce. Then they planted the seeds from their apple.

Here is Natalie peeling and coring her apple.
What to do with all these grapes?

The other day I was in the back yard and started thinking of plans for what to do differently next year. One thing for sure I will need to trim the grape vines early in the season. They climbed up on everything and created a jungle back there! I managed to get quite a bit of it pulled or cut down, but in doing so, I ended up picking about 10 pounds of grapes. I have juiced them and it tastes pretty good blended with an apple to sweeten it. I was thinking about making some kind of jelly. We'll see!
Andy is Back!!!

Dan's brother Andy just returned from 4+ months in Kenya. The kids gave him a great warm welcome and were jumping all over him last weekend. For more details about his trip, you can check out
his blog.
In other news I just scheduled my kidney stone surgery for October 2. Also, we will be air plane camping this weekend, so pray for safe travels.
