Picture of the Day 11-16

In her own room!
Growing up, this used to be Dan's room...amazing how some pink paint can change a place. (The bed used to be mine). Right before Halloween, we moved Natalie into her own room. Although she likes being in her room during the daytime, she is a little nervous about sleeping in a room all by herself at night.

What a great bed Alyssa! So shabby chic! I love that look. If I could I would have it all over my house but there's this guy that I live with, yeah, he doesn't care for it so much. At least I can do it in Hailey's room and my craft room. :-) I also wanted to put one of those netting things in her room but I was afraid she'd pull it down and I dunno get wrapped up in it. Maybe when she gets bigger like Natalie.
I need your design expertise on Hailey's room.

Oh, and where did you get those PB looking curtains?

Natalie just pulled her canopy down the other night. I'm thinking it's going to be a pain, but a cute pain.
I'm still saving up to get the chandelier like you have in Hailey's room. I love it, only now it comes in pink!

I love the shabby chic look too. When Dan and I were first married we did a bit of antique shopping when we were looking for furniture. He would turn down a completely great piece because "it has a crack" or something of this nature...
Guys...what are ya gonna do with 'em?

You are going to die when I tell you where I got the curtains...I thought they looked similar to PB too, but they are from...Walmart...$9.99! Sure beats PB price of $39. My most recent PB Kids catalog has them on "sale" for $24. I still need to get a few more pannels, but I couldn't pass them up at $10 a shot. Too cute!

GET OUT!!!!!
$9.99 are you outta your mind?
(Ok, I'll stop with the dumb quotes)

Hmm, might have to slip on over to good ol' Walmart...

I so wanted a PINK Chandelier, but at the time we picked her's out that was all that they had. It's sweet though. It has little daisies etched into the design and I figured I could add my own pink touches to the fixture.

Ya know what? I just had a brilliant idea! We should go to Aurora or something sometime and go antiquing (sp?). I think that would be fun. I call it treasure hunting. It's always fun to see what you can find.

I'd be up for that. It's been a while since I have gone antiquing and I've never gone to Aurora. Do you know of some great shops there?

No, I haven't BUT...I have always wanted to go. I have a holiday guide from the paper that my Mom gave to me and there was this great ad about Aurora. She and her gfriends have gone and my friend Heather has been. It just looks so quaint and a lot of fun. Not that I have a ton a money to spend but I think it would make for a fun aftenoon out with the girls. :-)
