Natalie helped me make the heart sandwiches with raspberry cream cheese and raspberry jelly. They also had cottage cheese sundaes with a gummy heart on top. The last photo is a marshmallow "lollypop" Zander got from his teacher. It was so cute I had to share. You may not be able to tell, but she dipped them in white chololate then in Valentine sprinkles, added a stick and presto, easy!
Treats for Grown-Ups:
We couldn't get a sitter, so I made dinner. I also surprised Dan by cleaning all my scrapbooking stuff off the dining room table so we could enjoy eating in the dining room. After the kids were in bed, Dan and I had a nice salad with currants, Hungarian mushroom soup, and ham and cheese stuffed chicken...and some white Zinfandel to celebrate our dinner for 2.

Delish!!!
Everything turned out really nice Alyssa. I like your darling sandwiches. How did you make that paper easel thingy?
I am going to attempt making those sweet marshmallow pops - what a great idea. Thanks for sharing!
White zinfandel Alyssa??? When I'm not pregnant anymore I am going to teach you a little bit about the wide word of good wine... c'mon now...
Oh, come now yourself Mamacimino (silly girl)...I too have tried a fair share of wine. I just happened to like the zin. I know it's kind of a girly wine, but I didn't want anything too strong.
sweetktea
I will post a profile view of the paper easel on Paper Capers to give you an idea of how I made it.
Don't you love those marshmallow pops? I'd never seen those before, but the possibilities are endless (green sprinkles for St. Patty's day etc.)
Sue - I've been watching the skaters at Clinton Square tonight on the Clinton Cam. http://www.syracuse.com/clintoncam/ index.ssf/video.ssf It has been interesting for me since I've never lived in a winter-all-winter place. Our crocus are starting to bloom here. Winter is close to being over. The fella in the Zamboni was out this morning so I knew the weather must be clearing up a bit.
Alyssa - we ate the cookie today. I hated to do it but that's what cookies are for. Your dad discovered the valentine sandwich today when he got in the car after a quick trip to Costco. I set it on the seat when I got in at your house. I forgot to take it in and forgot all about it by the next day. It took three times getting into the car to notice it. Miraculously it hadn't gotten squished. He said it was good. Since he can't have the Costco sausages or the berry sundaes or smoothies now it really hit the spot.
Your dad says hi, Alyssa - and hi to you all back in snowy Syracuse, Sue.
Mom
Thanks, hon. Love you and enjoyed the meal and thoughtfulness.
