Our time at the Geiser Grand Hotel

Geiser Grand Tour

Our room was on the second floor in the
Cupola Suite

This is the view from outside our room.
You can see the beautiful stained glass
window as well as the restaurant below.
The kids wanted a ride on the luggage cart.

Here is our bed and the view of the cupola.
The couch on the left pulled out for the kids
to sleep on.

Dinner at the Geiser Grand

After a five hour drive, we were all happy
to sit down for dinner...well, all of us but
Hayden that is!

Breakfast at the Geiser Grand

Yummy. This breakfast looks good
enough to be dessert! There was
even a fancy high chair for Hayden.

The Geiser Grand IS Fancy...
But not TOO FANCY!

My Three "Chair-ished"
Children

We have stayed here about five
times and each time I take a
picture in this chair. Natalie was
abouot 15 months old when I took
the first picture. This was Hayden's
first time in the chair!

Taking a break in the Afternoon

The kids enjoying a snack. Later, I went
down to take their picture from outside
the hotel looking into our room.

PASTA Night!

Whenever we are going to stay at the
Geiser Grand, we always try to work it
around pasta night! I wish there was a
way to capture the aroma that wafted up
from the restaurant and share it with you.
Garlic and pesto and parmesan, oh my!
You can totally customize your meal by
adding smoked salmon, bacon, shrimp,
chicken, sausage, steak, as well as a huge
variety of veggies. You can choose from up
to 3 sauces and 3 kinds of pasta. If you
enlarge the over-view picture, you can see
the chefs are right there in the dining room,
cooking up your food. It is sooo good.

Breakfast in our Suite

Before we hit the road for another couple
hours, we all had a big bowl of Snoqualmie
Falls oatmeal.

Welcome Home, every one of you. The photos are wonderful - makes me ache to Grandma for a while. I'm so glad you had a great time. That Snoqualmie Falls Oatmeal is the best stuff - even if I only eat it in my own kitchen.

The doctor gave his official permission to take off my arm brace today and he suggested that I should go swimming. I reminded him that I broke my arm on the way to take a dip in your pool. He still thinks it would be a good idea.

Natalie and Zander, SCHOOL!!! Congratulations. That first day is the BEST. Yes, and one of the the best first days, from the driving-mom-point-of-view is the first day the youngest starts first grade. Until then, it is back and forth all day long. It really isn't very long before that day will be here - six quick years. Just think of how fast time has gone since Natalie arrived on scene....

Love to you all from Mom/Grandma Roush

I liked your pictures. In the picture of children in the chair, Natalie reminds me so much of you at that age.

So where are the rest of the pictures?

Love,

Dad

When you say "where are the rest of the pictures," do you mean you really can't see them, or are you being facetious?
Cause you know I have LOTS more where those came from...just didn't want to spend all day posting to my blog, if you know what I mean? By the way after several failed drive-bys to take a photo of Bob Lake for you I thought I would look it up online and send you a picture, but I couldn't find one. It is just out of Baker City. Maybe next time we go out that way I will try again!

OMG! What a gorgeous hotel!
I have had that oatmeal at the Columbia Gorge Hotel before, yum-o!

You guys are such a cute family. It's always fun to hear about a day-in-the-life of another fellow MO3.
It's nice to have friends that live out of state b/c you get to travel to visit them-however-it's bittersweet b/c you don't get to see them as often and the next thing you know the kids are bigger and stuff happens in life that you don't really keep up on. We just had our friends from Seattle come down here and stay with us recently. Last time they saw Hailey she was only 6 months old. So, they didn't even recognize her (even though I had sent pics over email, etc.) when they saw her. It had been a little over a year since they moved. Of course we vowed to get together much before another year goes by but...we all know life just gets busy and you get focused in on your family and local friends.
Anyway, welcome back! :-)

I know what you mean about not seeing friends, then seeing their kids grow up before your eyes. This is really the first time that Zander and Dylan played together. All the other times they were too young. Now that they have become friends, it will be another half a year before we might see them again.
