January is a time for returning to order and reflecting on my goals for the year. Like most of America, I am back in weight loss mode again. I've been working out at the gym on a more regular schedule (something I haven't been doing since my surgeries in October). I feel great when I am done, but it does take a lot of my reserve energy from me.

For example, on Tuesday after dropping Natalie off at school I made a large dish of enchiladas and a layered bean dip for dinner, then I made bran muffins, 2 loaves of banana bread and rice crispy treats. (trying to clean out the pantry too). Then I took down and sorted all the Christmas decorations, cleaned the kitchen and family rooms and vacuumed downstairs. Just before dinner I made homemade salsa. We had company for dinner, I put the kids in bed afterwards and I was hopping around here, wide awake until after midnight!
Amazing!!! Now I know how the other half live...it's great having so much energy...I hardly know what to do with myself!

You are so funny! Are you taking Alli? I just saw a thing on that on Good Morning America. It is nice to have extra energy for sure. I am trying to lose weight too so maybe I'll check that out!!
It's called Thermo Lean. I think Dan picked it up at the vitamin store...I just hope it works!
Girl, you got a lot done! Wow!
Let me know how it all goes! My sis n law is taking some kind of Chinese herb suppliment and in two months has gone down from a 12 to an 8! Wow, right?
Shawn is trying it out this week and has already lost 5 lbs.
I am a chicken and am afraid of what the heck is in it. We'll see, I am getting desperate myself.
Hey Katie...that herb sounds interesting. If you try it, you have to let me know how it goes. I would love to be a size 8 again!
You must have gotten your slow metabolism from your Mother, I seem to have the opposite problem. When I get up in the morning I feel like the Energizer Bunny but then when I stop I really crash.
I do not have the kind of energy that I use to have since my surgery and more recently my radiation treatments, but I still can get quite a lot done...I just cannot get as much of it done and I need know when to quit.
Good luck with your metabolism booster although Katie's sister-in-law's Chinese herbs sound interesting as well. I could stand to loose some weight myself.
Sign me up for either one! I could really use some extra energy and help with weight loss. The herbal stuff does sound interesting though. You will have to let me know what it is! BTW, my girls (especially Alexis) keep asking when we can go over to Natalie and Zander's house. May be we can figure out sometime to get together so the kids can play and we can chit-chat!
I was meaning to call you during the break...we still have to give the girls Gulo-Gulo. And yes, it would be fun to hang out too...Maybe sometime next week after school.
ok, so not to be too nosey or anything but....what in the world is Gulo-Gulo???
BTW, Shawn told me the name of the herbal pill but....now I can't remember... but when I do I will let you all know. It's like Solo something or other?? Well, that was a lot of help now wasn't it?? lol
Gulo-gulo is a game our kids love to play and my 2 nieces like it too so we got if for them for Christmas, then forgot it under the tree...oops!
I think the fictional animals in the game are called gulo-gulos.
Is it a card game or board game? Sounds interesting.
Neither really. More of a game with cardboard tiles, wooden marbles and gulo-gulo markers.
Ok, I found out the name of the pill. It is called Solo Slim® and it is the once a day, all natural, herbal, vegetarian weight loss supplement designed to help you safely slim down. Made from a proprietary blend of carefully selected herbs and nutrients, Solo Slim® is highly effective for the promotion of caffeine-free weight loss. Ok, that was taken word for word from their website.
Anyway, Shawn's mom has been on it for a little over a month and she has lost about 20 lbs.
